Purposes and Goals
- The group known as Lehigh Christian Alumni is formed for the purpose
of supporting existing evangelical Christian groups on the campus of Lehigh
University.
- The membership of the LCA is made up of any alumni who have an interest
in promoting Christian evangelism, discipleship or fellowship through
the existing student-run groups on campus.
- The primary vehicle for the accomplishment of the goals of the LCA will
be the development of a network of interested alumni. This is being accomplished
with the knowledge and assistance of the Lehigh Alumni Association, and
is in accord with their stated purposes.
- Activities will include fundraising for both the operating and special
project costs of the LCA.
- Future projects include:
- Sponsorship of Annual Prayer Breakfast for all Christian students,
faculty and alumni.
- Sponsorship of awards for outstanding Christian seniors.
- Donation of important Christian books to the campus libraries.
- Sponsorship of lectures by outstanding national Christian Leaders.
(Chuck Colson, Josh McDowell, Jay Kesler, etc.)
- Moral support and encouragement to campus leaders
- The LCA is not operating through any single campus group, but is willing
to assist and support any group that desires to promote the Gospel of
Jesus Christ through the Holy Bible.
- The Lehigh Christian Alumni will seek to restore a sense of Lehigh's
spiritual and moral history. This educational arm of the LCA will use
this web site and other means to inform the Lehigh community of the writings
of Lehigh founding father Bishop William Bacon Stevens, and of other important
aspects of Lehigh's spiritual past.
